The fried chicken is, without a doubt, the star of the show. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, it has a seasoning balance that elevates each bite. Patrons rave about the generous portion sizes, making it a great value for those on a budget, with meals averaging just $4.99 to $10. Additionally, the sides, such as the fried okra and green beans, receive high praise for their freshness and flavor. The casual ambiance of the restaurant adds to the experience—perfect for a laid-back lunch or dinner. Friendly staff often enhance the dining experience through their attentive service. And let's not forget their standout tea selection, which perfectly complements any meal and keeps customers coming back.
Most Disliked
While many rave about Tom's, some customers express concerns about longer wait times, especially during peak hours when the restaurant can be quite busy. A few reviews mention dissatisfaction with occasional undercooked sides or cold chicken when the kitchen is overwhelmed with orders. For those used to the consistency of large corporate chains, the experience at Tom's might feel less streamlined. Additionally, parking can be a challenge during busy times, although ample options are generally available. It's worth keeping in mind that tastes differ; some diners might find the flavors slightly different from their favorite chains, although many would argue that's what makes it special.

Tom’s Fried Chicken delivers that classic Southern comfort food experience with hearty portions and homestyle flavor. The fried chicken is the star of the plate—crispy golden-brown batter with a satisfying crunch, yet juicy and tender inside. It’s seasoned well without being overpowering, letting the chicken shine. The sides round out the meal nicely. The fried okra is done right—crispy outside with a soft, flavorful bite inside, not greasy. The green beans are simple and savory, a good balance against the heavier fried items. The soft roll adds that extra touch of comfort to tie the meal together. What stands out most is how authentic and filling the plate feels. This isn’t fast food—it’s the kind of fried chicken that reminds you of family gatherings and small-town diners. Without a doubt, this is the best fried chicken in Fort Worth—a must-try for locals and visitors alike.

While you can't satisfy everyone (hence some of the negative reviews on here) take them with a grain is salt. Tried this place in a whim and it sure as heck paid off. Large portions, food was great and the pricing was beyond what other places charge. Support the little guy. I intend to go here more often as their food was better by a mile compared to the other chicken and seafood place whose tenders tend to taste more like fish. Toms, their tenders and fries tasted as they should off. Oh and last thing everyone at this place was friendly and courteous.

Stopped by Tom's Chicken for the first time. It was absolutely delicious!. Usually when I get fried chicken from a fast food place it is Lisa's or Church's. This place blows them out of the water. My new go to place when I am in the mood for fried chicken.

It was the 1st time trying Tom’s. We liked the food a lot. It felt like homemade. My only problem was the coke was a bit flat and I didn’t get the side of cream gravy I ordered. It arrived very quickly and the food was great
